Setelah menantang rezim totaliter sang Penyihir di Oz, Elphaba harus bergulat dengan identitasnya sebagai "Penyihir Jahat dari Barat". Sementara itu, sang Penyihir telah memberi Glinda gelar "Glinda yang Baik" dan status publik sebagai pembela negara melawan Elphaba.
