Seorang pilot bernama Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) terjebak di wilayah berbahaya saat ia terpaksa mendaratkan pesawat komersialnya setelah badai mengerikan melanda. Setelah selamat mendaratkan pesawat, semua penumpang disandera kelompok bersenjata yang sadis. Satu-satunya cara untuk menyelamatkan mereka semua adalah bekerja sama dengan Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), seorang terdakwa pembunuh yang turut ikut dalam pesawat tersebut.
