Alejandro (Benecio Del Toro) kembali disewa oleh agen lapangan CIA, Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) untuk memulai perang dengan para kartel narkoba Meksiko yang sedang bertikai. Kini ia ditugaskan dengan cara menculik Isabela Reyes (Isabela Moner), anak perempuan dari bos pengedar narkoba Carlos Reyes.
Namun ketika misinya tersebut bocor, Graver memerintahkan Alejandro melenyapkan Isabela. Sayangnya sang pembunuh berdarah dingin tersebut pun terenyuh.
